2 Crashes-2 Arrests And A Stabbing In Springfield Sunday Night
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Sunday evening Springfield officials had their hands full with a stabbing, two DUI related vehicle crashes and one missing driver.
It started around 8:30pm when a vehicle crashed into a utility pole on Batts Blvd. MAP When police arrived they found the vehicle but no driver. With some help from citizens and a little investigating, police located the 30 year old driver and charged him with; Leaving-The-Scene-Of-An-Accident, Driving-On-A-Revoked-Licence and DUI. He was transported to NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield for a blood draw before being delivered to the Robertson County Detention Facility in Springfield.
Then, around 10:07pm, first responders were called to a stabbing on Circle Drive in Springfield. According to Springfield Police, the victim, a 33 year old Springfield man, had been stabbed in the chest. The victim told police that he was stabbed while standing near the corner of Circle Drive and Sunset Drive. MAP Police said that though the man was hospitalized, and will likely require stitches, 
his injuries were not life threatening.
Springfield Police told Smokey Barn News that the victim did not want to cooperate with authorities and did not want to prosecute. The victim did tell police that the man who stabbed him was an Hispanic male but offered nothing more. Police said that after being stabbed the victim ran a short distance away to his home and called 911.
Just minutes after the stabbing, Springfield Police, Fire and Robertson County EMS were called to a motor vehicle accident on HWY 161 near Memorial Blvd. MAP According to Springfield Police, the driver, a 24 year old male, had struck a deer and left the roadway.
It appeared that the deer made contact with the drivers side of the vehicle. After leaving the roadway the vehicle then struck a sign and came to rest in a field, police said. A brief search for the deer revealed nothing. Some of the deer’s coat was visible on the car but the animal was apparently intact enough to wander off.
The Driver was taken into custody under suspicion of DUI. He too was transported to NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield for a blood draw before being delivered to the Robertson County Detention Facility in Springfield.
