5 Month Old Girl Found Dead & 2 Toddlers Hospitalized In Logan County

LOGAN COUNTY, KY: (Smokey Barn News) – According to officials with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday just before 3:P.M. Deputies responded to a mobile home located on Belcher Drive (John’s Mobile Home Park) in Auburn, KY. MAP

Upon arrival, it was confirmed by deputies that a 5-month old female juvenile was deceased at the scene. Two other children at the scene, ages 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 were transported, via ambulance, to the Medical Center in Bowling Green and then to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, TN.

An Autopsy was conducted on the deceased child on Sunday Morning in Madisonville, KY. This incident is a active investigation and is being conducted by the Logan County Sheriff’s Department.

No further details are being released at this time.

UPDATE: Tuesday

One child has been released from the hospital. According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office the 1.5 year old girl  has been released from the hospital. Officials in Logan County told Smokey Barn that she fared the best in the ordeal.

UPDATE: Monday

According to a release from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation into the death of the five month old child continues. An autopsy was conducted by the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office and the results are pending.
The deceased child’s two siblings remain at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, their condition is NOT being released.
The investigation is ongoing by the Sheriff’s Office, Logan County Coroner and Kentucky Department of Child Services.
Out of respect for the family, no other details are being released at this time.
