Accident Closes Whites Creek Pike Friday Morning

At the moment we have little information  but what we can tell you is that there was an accident on Whites Creek Pike/431/Tom Austin Hwy just outside Robertson County Friday morning. (Location of wreck)

The call came into Metro Nashville 911 emergency dispatch around 11:05 am and the road was closed and traffic re-routed until 2:30pm.

Facts are still sketchy as we wait for the official report from officials but early reports are that it was a single vehicle accident with one female occupant. We do not have her name or city.

As we understand it, the woman was trapped inside the vehicle and  extraction was required. The process of extraction and the investigation of the accident had the road closed for over 3 hours.

Our news partner WKRN News 2 told Smokey that, according to witnesses, the female driver of a Tahoe, for reasons unknown, left the roadway in the 7800 block of Whites Creek Pike at 11 a.m. She was transported to Vanderbilt where she is in stable condition.

As soon as officials release more details including the name and condition of the driver we will bring it to you.
