As Winds Peak Firefighters Battle Home Fire In White House

WHITE HOUSE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Firefighters from White House City, White House Community, Greenbrier and Cross Plains Fire are battling a house fire in the 7600 block of HWY 76. MAP The call to 911 came in just after noon Tuesday. The home is positioned between Maxie Jones Rd and New Hall Rd.

Officials tell Smokey Barn News that a mother (Sydney Walker) and her young daughter were home at the time of the fire but both made it out safely. With the high winds firefighters are working hard to keep the fire from spreading to adjacent structures and becoming a grass fire. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Robertson County Emergency Management Agency is also on scene.

HWY 76 is currently slow going, if it’s part of your route plan you may want to delay your departure or chose an alternate route.

The home will be classified at a total loss. If the residents decide to reach out to the community for assistance we will bring it to you.

Walker, who’s 6-months pregnant, told our news partner FOX 17; “I mean I don’t know if I had time to do anything different, because it just all caught on fire so quickly,” Walker said.

Walker told FOX 17 that she had just put her baby down for a nap when she smelled smoke and saw a wall on fire at the front of the house. Within minutes, the whole place was on fire. For Sydney Walker’s full interview on FOX 17 click here.
