Comptroller Recognizes Clean Audit Report in Robertson County

Tennnessee TreasuryComptroller Justin P. Wilson is recognizing a significant achievement by Robertson County government leaders and elected officials. Robertson County’s audit report for fiscal year 2014 included no findings (financial errors).

Robertson County and Hamblen County in East Tennessee are the only county governments audited by the Comptroller’s division of Local Government Audit that can claim this distinction.

Audit findings are used to document weaknesses and deficiencies in the management of county government. While Robertson and Hamblen counties had zero findings, the other 87 counties audited by the Comptroller’s Office included a total of 602 findings. Six counties (Shelby, Davidson, Knox, Hamilton, Washington and McMinn) are audited by CPA firms.

Comptroller Justin P. Wilson will recognize Robertson County’s achievement during the County Commission meeting on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.

I commend Robertson County officials and leaders for this outstanding accomplishment,” Comptroller Justin P. Wilson said. “It’s clear county leaders embrace the goal of making government work better. It is my hope that other Tennessee counties will follow their lead.”

We are honored to be recognized along with Hamblen County as the only two counties in Tennessee to have a completely clean audit with no material findings for this fiscal year.

This award is a testament to Jody Stewart and her Finance Office along with every elected official, department head and employee of Robertson County. This shows that our people take great pride in their work and strive daily to operate their offices in such manner that is a credit to our county and community.

Our greatest thanks go to you the people of Robertson County for allowing us the opportunity of serving you. We are truly grateful for the trust you place in us.” Howard Bradley Robertson County Mayor
