Cottontown Home Suffers Heavy Damage In Saturday Fire
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Cottontown home suffered heavy damage in a fire that started Saturday afternoon.
No injuries have been reported in the fire that started around 4:20pm Saturday. The home is located in the 100 block of Ben Albert Rd. MAP Fire crews made a good stop saving parts of the structure but it will not be livable.
The above photo was taken by local resident Alicia Wethington as the home was engulfed in flames. The plume of smoke from the fire was visible from miles away.
There was some concern about the family cat but after the fire was extinguished the cat was located during the search and overhaul and returned to the owners.
Firefighters tell Smokey Barn News that, preliminarily, it looks like the fire may have been electrical in nature starting in an upstairs bathroom.
The upstairs of the home suffered heavy fire damage but firefighters were able to save parts of the lower level, though there is significant smoke and water damage throughout the home.
The White House Community Volunteer Fire, White House City Fire Department, Shackle Island Volunteer Fire Department, Sumner County EMS and the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the fire.
