Family Escapes Flooding On Attic Steps And Little Caesars Flooded

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Heavy rains took their toll on Robertson County Roads homes and business Wednesday night and early Thursday.

A family on Owens Chapel Rd in Springfield was forced to evacuate after the creek behind their home came up over its banks and swallowed their house. Smokey was there as the family was escorted out by officials. The Barnes’ told Smokey Barn News that they escaped the rising flood water with their 5-year-old son Gavin by climbing up the attic ladder until help could arrive. It would be two hours before officials could reach the home.

Over on Memorial Blvd, the roof of Little Caesars Pizza caved in causing heavy damage to the business and some roads in the county were still impassable early Thursday morning.

The Director of  the Robertson County Emergency Management R.L. Douglas is calling the flooding significant and potentially record breaking in some parts of Robertson County. Douglas told Smokey Barn News that he’s still assessing the flooding and damage and he’ll have a better answer later in the day.
