A local family member told Smokey Barn News that the family worked very hard for what they have, now they have lost everything. We believe the family was carrying insurance on the home but we are not sure if the contents were covered but if they do decide to go public with any needs we will bring it to you.

The family, on vacation, is driving home this evening. They are not expected to make it home until morning.

UPDATE: Mystery Man identified: It was Tim Tawater that saved the dog from the burning home. Tim is a Metro Nashville Firefighter that just happened by the home and knew just what to do.

Needless to say the family is very grateful. We have also learned that two of the three cats have been found in good shape.

Below is Smokey’s original story the day of the fire.
