Former Ridgetop Police Chief Randy Adcock Dies, he was 59
RIDGETOP TENNESSSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Randall Thomas “Randy” Adcock of Springfield, former Ridgetop Police Chief, passed away Saturday May 14, 2016 after a battle with cancer, he was 59.
“Chief Adcock was a great Chief for the city of Ridgetop for five years. He was well liked by the officers and the citizens of Ridgetop and he will be well missed.
“He died a tragic death, we thought he was doing better and then we found out the cancer had returned. What I understand is that the cancer actually spread from his brain to his back.
“He came up to visit me at the car lot and he said his back was hurting him real bad and he was going to the doctor. They put him in for tests and they told him that the cancer had spread from his brain to his back, a real rapid type of cancer.
“He will be missed by family, friends and myself and most everybody that knew him.” Darrell Denton, Mayor of Ridgetop
According to his on-line obituary, Randy was born September 20, 1956 in Davidson County, Tennessee and spent his younger years with his grandfather in his garage, Adcock’s Garage, in Hendersonville.
Randy chose law enforcement as his career, being employed by the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, Goodlettsville Police Department, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and retiring as Police Chief in Ridgetop, TN. He ended his career as Security Supervisor at the Bridgestone Arena.
Randy is survived by his wife, Donna Baggett Adcock; children, Dakota (Whitney) Duncan, Jessica Adcock, Randall Adcock and step-son, Brandon Isabell. He had three grandsons, Diesel, Ashtyn and Axle, who were the loves of his life.
A Life Celebration Service honoring Randy will be held on Thursday, May 19th at 1:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3-8 P.M. with a Masonic Service to take place at 7 P.M. The family will also receive friends on Thursday morning until the service time at 1 P.M.
