Greenbrier Man At Vanderbilt Following Rollover Wednesday
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Greenbrier man is at Vanderbilt Medical Center this evening following a rollover accident on Betts Rd. MAP
The call to 911 came in at 6:38pm Wednesday evening. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol at the scene, the 21 year old driver from Greenbrier crossed the center-line and preceded onto the left shoulder missing oncoming traffic. After leaving the roadway the vehicle crashed into two mailboxes before it rolled over and impacted a tree, finally landing upside down in a ditch.
The accident occurred in the front yard of John Wilson. Wilson told Smokey Barn News that he heard a loud bang, thinking his wife somehow made the noise he went outside and discovered the mangled jeep with a man trapped inside. His wife came out and spoke to the young man until medics could arrive, Wilson said. “Get me out’a here,” the man asked.
When the White House Community Volunteer Fire Department arrived they found the young man trapped inside the vehicle. “The impact jammed all the doors,” said Volunteer Fire Chief Gerald Wakefield.
According to Wakefield the man was talking and lucid after the accident with bumps, bruises and maybe some head trauma. The driver was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville via ground in stable condition.
Robertson County EMS, The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, the THP and the White House Community Volunteer Fire Department all responded to the call.
As far as a cause, according to the THP, the accident is still under investigation but they did tell us that some drug paraphernalia was taken into evidence.
