Obituary for Margaret Kermicle

Margaret  KermicleMargaret Elizabeth Kermicle, 84, of Springfield, died Sunday June 25, 2017 at North Crest Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday June 28th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Palestine Cemetery with Jeremy Pratt, Adam Parker, Taylor Parker, Nathan Dilliha, Grant Dilliha, Bobby Ruddick, and Tim Boman serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Barber, Roger Blackwood, and Dexter Reneer. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kermicle was born September 10, 1932 in Macon, GA to the late Oscar and Gladys Jordon Nobles. She was a retired cashier from Springfield Wal-Mart. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Springfield, a member of the Christian Women Fellowship, and was a member of the Red Hats Ladies Society. Mrs. Kermicle loved gardening and flowers, but her special love was cooking and always making sure that everyone around her had plenty to eat. She published her own cookbook in 2000, “Family Favorites”. She did two printings and sold out both times, with people still requesting a copy of the book. For over twenty-five years, she served as a foster parent to many children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Jack and Paul Nobles.

floral squareMrs. Kermicle is survived by her sons: David Kermicle of Houston, TX, Daniel (Kathy) Kermicle of Pulaski, and Carney (Dee Hallman) Kermicle of White House, by her daughters: Doylene (Charles) Knapper of Springfield, Denise (Marty) Parker of Springfield, Donna (Gary) Dilliha of Springfield, sisters: Louise Grizzard, Rose Pittman, and Mildred Donaldson all of Macon, GA, fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren

Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Christian Church or to Heifer International.

Obituary for Betty Jo Wyatt

Betty Jo WyattBetty Jo Wyatt, 79, of Springfield, died Saturday June 24, 2017 at her home. Funeral services were conducted Monday June 26th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Marlar officiating. Interment followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Robert Wayne Traughber, James “Lurdy” Traughber, Billy Joe Traughber, Ross Mason Traughber, Joseph Traughber, and Billy White serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wyatt was born May 13, 1938 in Robertson County to the late John James and Mary Ova Baggett White. She was a retired bus driver from the Robertson County Board of Education and was a member of Zion’s Chapel Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Wyatt was a member of the Red Hat Ladies Society, and she loved both traveling floral squareand gardening. She is survived by her husband: Ephriam Wyatt, Jr., of Springfield, sons and daughters-in-law: Robert Wayne Traughber, James “Lurdy” and Marsha Traughber, Billy Joe and Angie Traughber, all of Springfield, brothers and sister-in-law: Harold and Ann White of Springfield, Bobby White of Springfield, grandchildren: Ross Mason Traughber and Joseph Traughber, great grandchild: Kiley Jo Traughber.

Obituary for John W. Richards

John W. RichardsJohn W. Richards, age 72 of Clarksville, died Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Funeral services were conducted Friday, June 23, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Larry D. Robertson officiating and sister, Frankie Fletcher serving as eulogist. Interment followed in Bartlett Cemetery in Cedar Hill with Dan McGhee, Barry McGhee, Quentin Richards, Tommy Hallman, Steven Hallman, and Jamie Hallman serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Will McGhee, Scott Richards, Stan Richards, Jeremy Richards, Trey Sprouse, Tony Sprouse, John Ed Fletcher, James Mack Fletcher, Ed Anderson, and Jeff Hogan. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 AM until the hour of service.

Mr. Richards family owned a bi-centennial farm on the border of Tennessee and Kentucky, which later became Ft. Campbell. After leaving the family farm, at the invitation of the U.S. Government, the family acquired land in Robertson County, and Johnny was in Robertson County born June 14, 1945 to the late James S. and Kathryn Southall Richards. He was the eighth child of a family of ten children.
He was educated in the Robertson County School system and graduated from Jo Byrns High School in 1963. After graduation, he worked and retired from the Trane Company after 42 years. He was a lifelong member of Cedar Hill United Methodist Church. He most enjoyed being with his family at the lake spending time together.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene and Robert Hunter Richards; sisters, Estelle Grambihler and Louise Richards; and children’s mother, Agnes Marie “Patsy” Richards.

Mr. Richards leaves a loving and devoted wife, Barbara Jones Richards of Clarksville; sons, Robert Wayne (Betty) Richards of Cedar Hill, Charles David (Lisa) Richards of Cedar Hill, Barry (Malissa) McGhee of Clifty, KY, and Dan (Ashen) McGhee of Clifty, KY; ten grandchildren, Casey, Quentin, and Sara Beth Richards, Haley, Emma, Will, and Carley McGhee, and Tommy, Jamie, and Steven Hallman; four great grandchildren, Dylan, McKaylee, and John Morris Lyman, and Hailee Logan; floral squarebrother, Tom (Sandra) Richards of Cedar Hill; sisters, Eve Johnson, Mary K. Sprouse, and Frankie Fletcher, all of Springfield, and Vickie (George) Anderson of Cedar Hill; brother-in-law, Ken Grambihler of Clarksville; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Obituary for Charles Garnett Emberton Jr.

Charles Garnett Emberton Jr.Age 59 of Springfield passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at his home. He was born May 10, 1958 in Hopkinsville, KY to Charles Garnett and Joyce Willis Emberton, Sr. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked as a truck driver for XPO Logisitics and was awarded the million mile safe driver award. He was a member of Buena Visa-East Nashville Masonic Lodge #560 and he loved golfing.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Garnett Emberton, Sr.; 2 brothers, Owen Emberton and Chris Emberton. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Renee Brown Emberton, Springfield, TN; sons, Bobby (Cassie) Emberton, Jacksonville, AL and Ryan (Ella) Emberton, Greenville, NC; daughters, Brandi (Steve) Vance, Gadsden, AL and Nikki Emberton (Boyfriend John Joseph), Springfield, TN; mother, Joyce Willis Emberton, Bowling Green, KY; brother, Mack Emberton, Bowling Green, KY; sister, Carole Emberton (Darrell Stevens) Amhurst, NY; 6 grandchildren.

Mr. Head was born in Robertson County on September 23, 1935 to the late H.S. and Mildred Carr Head. He was a retired printer and farmer; loved the old, traditional country music; and was a member of Cherry Mound Baptist church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Betty Carver; and nephew, James Baddley.

Harold was born in Springfield on October 23, 1932 to the late Thomas V. and Maggie Frazier Binkley. He was a member of Mt Sharon Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Mrs. Binkley was born May 7, 1937 in Cheatham County to the late Jefferson and Jonnie Knight Raymer. She was retired from the State of TN Department of Health and was a member of the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Binkley is preceded in death by her son, Troy Binkley and her five brothers and sisters.

Mr. McCroy was born April 20, 1956 in Robertson County to the late Hunter and Carlene Jackson McCroy, Sr. He was a Class of 1974 graduate of Jo Byrns High School, was a graduate of Austin Peay State University and was the Manager of the Adams-Cedar Hill Water System until his retirement. He was also a member of the Adams Church of Christ.

He is survived by his nieces, Laura McCroy and Paige McCroy; great-niece, Autumn Upchurch; and sister-in-law, Denise McCroy, all of Adams. Mr. McCroy is also survived by numerous loving cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 4pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Bob Carroll officiating. Mr. Heathcock’s remains were cremated following the funeral service. Visitation with the family was held at the funeral home on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 4-8pm and again on Saturday from 2-4pm.

Mr. Heathcock was born September 28, 1942 in the Barefoot Nations of Jasper County, Illinois to the late Joe Heathcock and Josephine Faulk DeVore. He worked as a school teacher in Robertson County until his retirement, was the founder of Red River Valley Park in Adams, TN, and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents Mr. Heathcock is preceded in death by Twila Jane DeVore. He is survived by Rose Heathcock; his sons, Jeff (Brenna) Heathcock of Greenbrier and Greg (Donna) Heathcock of White, GA; daughter, Melissa (John) Walden of Elkton, TN; brothers Jerry Heathcock of Adams and Kelvin DeVore of IL; sister, floral squareMadonna Uebinger of IL; grandchildren, Hunter Heathcock, Tanner Heathcock, Sterling Heathcock, Hanna Joy, Elizabeth Johnson, Oliver Henry and Bailey Heathcock; and 3 great-grandchildren.
