Obituary for Tracie Scott
Tracie Scott, age 35, of Greenbrier, TN passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017. A Celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2017, 2pm, at Hillview Baptist Church, 1268 Springfield Hwy, Goodlettsville, TN 37072, with Bro. Michael Wheeler officiating. There will be a time of visitation with the family prior to the service from 12 Noon to 2pm. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Goodlettsville. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Tracie loved her children very much, spending time with her family, cooking, making jewelry, dressing up and looking pretty, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley. Her favorite color was pink and she loved going to Center Hill Lake on weekends and vacations. A favorite way to spend time was playing Rock Band on X Box with her family and she always wanted to be the singer.
She is survived by children, Jason Bowman, Jr. and Lexie Bowman, Greenbrier, TN; mother, Tina White Paul (Dewey), Greenbrier, TN; father, Rick Scott, Old Hickory, TN; grandmothers, Margie Hargrove, Greenbrier, TN and Doris Spearrin, Old Hickory, TN; sister, Michelle Reeves (Dion), Old Hickory, TN; brother, Ricky Scott (Stephanie), Greenbrier, TN and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Obituary for Richard Aubrey Powers
Richard Aubrey Powers, age 66 of Springfield, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Alive Hospice Skyline Madison Campus. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Chet Duke officiating. Burial followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with his cousins serving as pallbearers. The family received friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10 AM until the hour of service.
Mr. Powers was born August 17, 1950 in Davidson County to the late Russell Aubrey and Mabel Christine Berry Powers. He was a member of Coopertown Church of Christ, was a retired truck driver with UPS after 33 years of service, and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a member of the 1969 graduating class of East High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary Wayne Powers and William Donald Armstrong, and a very special aunt and uncle, Helen and Dalton DeSheles.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Cochran Powers of Springfield; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and David Abling of Seattle, WA; grandsons, Diego and Joshua Abling; sisters, Brenda Miller of Portland and Ellen Halliburton and husband Milton of Nashville; aunt, Betty Lewis of Hendersonville; uncle and aunt, J.W. and Louise Berry of Hendersonville; and mother-in-law, Anna Elizabeth Irwin of Portland.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Kirk Barnes and all the staff of Tennessee Oncology Skyline, the same day surgery staff at Skyline Hospital, the 3 North nurses at Sarah Cannon Centennial and Alive Hospice at Skyline Madison Campus.
Obituary for Shirley Reynolds
Shirley Reynolds, age 79 of Springfield, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at NorthCrest Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Kelly LeBlanc and Rev. Frank Evans officiating. Burial followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Jared LeBlanc, Jason LeBlanc, Kyle Clark, Justin Mitchell, Walker Reynolds, Brandon Reynolds, and Dallas Reynolds serving as pallbearers. The family received friends at the funeral home Thursday from 4 until 8 PM and Friday from 10 AM until the hour of service.
Mrs. Reynolds was born March 4, 1937 in Robertson County to the late Alvin and Vida Kirby Starks. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Franklin, KY and was a homemaker. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a deep love for the Lord and gospel music. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Edgar Reynolds, and brothers, Eugene and Charles Starks.
She is survived by her sons, Dicky Reynolds of Greenbrier, David Reynolds of Talking Rock, GA, Jimmy Reynolds of Greenbrier, and Kevin Reynolds of Gallatin; daughters, Cindy Reynolds of Springfield and Karen LeBlanc of Springfield; brother, Ken Starks of Ridgetop; sisters, Ruth Sutton of Goodlettsville and Catherine Felts of Hermitage; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Obituary for Jimmy Larry Reynolds
Jimmy Larry Reynolds, 72, of Springfield, died Monday January 16, 2017 at The Waters of Robertson. Graveside services were conducted Wednesday January 18th at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cross Plains, with A.J. Reynolds, Matt Austin, Jason Stewart, Larry Bush, David Bush, and Steve Maddox serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home.
Mr. Reynolds was born November 30, 1944 in Robertson County to the late Virgil and Ruth Lassiter Reynolds. He worked share cropper and Cab Driver, and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Reynolds enjoyed collecting knives, guns, watches, antiques, and cars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Joyce Bush Reynolds, by his daughter: Barbara Reynolds., his step-children: Richie Escue and Lori Carver, and by his granddaughter: Leeanna Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Kristy and Steve Maddox of Springfield, step-son: Ricky Carver of Westmoreland, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Obituary for John Bentley Wray
John Bentley Wray Passed January 20, 2017 at home in Hendersonville, TN. Born November 18, 1926 in Russellville, KY. Survived by wife, Judy Aaron Wray, step-daughter, Andrea Simmons Polla (Magnus) of Fjaras, Sweden, grandson, Zachariah Djennas of Fjaras, Sweden, and 13 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Elwood and Nell Pedigo Wray; sisters, Ann Wray, Helen Sprague, Adeline Howell, and Nancy Moran.
Johnny served honorably in the U.S. Navy in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW and a 70 year member of the American Legion Post 5 in Nashville. He worked as a sales representative in the electronics field, and later worked in real estate sales and appraisals.
Visitation and life celebration with family and friends on January 24, 2017, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Austin & Bell Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at Red Oak Grove Church Cemetery in Russellville, KY at a later date.

JT “Pete” Spain, age 71, of Cedar Hill, passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11am in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Linda Sears, Doug Spain and Joshua Spain officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Springfield with Stetson Spain, Jacob Spain, Trevor Garrison, Dillian Spain, Dawson Spain and Terry Smith serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Morris, Elijah Spain and Samuel Spain. Mr. Spain was born October 26, 1945 in Robertson County to the late Artha and Vadie Eden Spain. He was a self-employed construction contractor and was a member of the Logan Mill Apostolic Church.
In addition to his parents Mr. Spain is preceded in death by his brothers, James and Johnny Spain; and sister, Marie Roth. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Spain; sons, William (Jennifer) Spain of Cedar Hill, Jason (Mandy) Spain of Springfield and Joshua (Amanda) Spain of Cedar Hill; daughter, Jada (Gary) Garrison of Springfield; brothers, Benny (Noreen) Spain of Springfield, Melvin (Jean) Spain of Springfield and Donnie (Joyce) Spain of Springfield; sisters, Joann Briley of Springfield, Wanda Spivey of Orlinda and Evalina (Ken) Hart of Bethpage; sister-in-law, Ruth Spain of Springfield; grandchildren, Stetson Spain, Grace Spain, Dawson Spain, Jacob Spain, Dillian Spain, Trevor Garrison, Faith Spain, Elijah Spain, Samuel Spain and Hope Spain.

Mrs. Kendrick was born September 10, 1952 in Camp Gordon, GA to the late Harold Eoff and Mrs. Faye Welch Eoff. She worked as a transcriptionist for NorthCrest Medical Center.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Kendrick is preceded in death by her grandson, Seth Palmore. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Kendrick is survived by her husband, Jesse Kendrick; son, James (Ashley) Kendrick of Springfield; daughter, Elizabeth (Brian) Mitchell of Springfield; brothers, David Eoff and Robert Eoff, both of Eugene, OR; sisters, Patricia Tomchuck and Janet (Bob) Eoff, both of Grants Pass, OR and Barbara Connor of Eugene, OR; grandchildren, Katie (Nick) Miller, Chase Mitchell and MaKenna Kendrick; and great-grandchildren, Gavin Miller and Zoey Miller.

Sheila Jean Chandler, age 58, of Ashland City, died on Wednesday, January 18th, 2017 at the Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Tennessee. Memorial services will be conducted at 7 o’clock pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View.
Visitation with the family was held Saturday from 5PM till hour of service all at the funeral home.
Ms. Sheila was born March 17, 1958 in Nashville, Tennessee to Cecil and Sylvia Brewer. She was employed with Pleasant View Elementary School and had worked for numerous years throughout the Cheatham County school system.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Sylvia Brewer; brother, Larry Brewer; and sister, sister, Connie Warren.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby (Alice) Chandler of Pleasant View, Jeremy Shivers of Ashland City; father, Cecil Brewer of Ashland City; sister, Audrey Lewis of Ashland City; and 10 nieces & nephews.

Obituary for Lewis Lee Engles
Lewis Lee Engles, age 73 of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. He taught in the Sumner County School System for forty years, and was a church organist for sixty years in Davidson and Sumner Counties. He was a long time member of the Hendersonville Rotary Club, the Nashville Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, graduate of Peabody College, and received his Master’s Degree from Belmont.
He is preceded in death by parents, James & Leah Engles. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Grubbs Engles; brother, Jimmy (May) Engles, Jr.; brother-in-law, Geno (Deborah) Grubbs; several nieces and nephews & great nieces and nephews.
A visitation was held on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Austin & Bell Funeral Home and Saturday, January 21 from 12:00 noon until his Celebration of Life Service time at 1:00 PM at the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Hutchinson officiating.
Family and friends served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Hendersonville Morning Rotary Club.

Frances Juanita Long, age 89, of Pleasant View, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at the home of her great-granddaughter, Kayla. Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock pm, on Saturday, January 21st, 2017 in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Calvin Brawner and Bro. Jeffery Binkley officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant View Methodist Cemetery with Jerry Long, Tommy Long, Larry Long, James Long, Jeremy Long and Eddie Dowlen serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Long was born February 7, 1927 in Adolphus, Kentucky to the late Charlie and Annie Keen. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Long; and 9 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry Long of Pleasant View, Tommy Long of Pleasant View, Larry (Cecilia) Long of Ashland City; grandchildren, James Long, Christy (Chas) Adkisson, Jeremy (April) Long, Michelle Long; great-grandchildren, Kayla Williams, Miracle Long, Christian Long, Max Long, Caleb Long; and great-great-grandchildren, Rylee and Levi Wilbur.

Mr. Harper was born August 16, 1948 in Springfield to the late Marion Woodford and Mary Francis Heatherly Harper. He was a farmer, owner of Harper’s Spot Cash in Barren Plains and Dot’s Diner and was a Christian.
In addition to his parents Mr. Harper is preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Scott Harper. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Sharp Harper; sons, Billy (Nicole) Harper of Cedar Hill, Bobby (Melissa East) Harper of Cottontown, Ronnie Lynn (Sharon) Harper – Millersville and Michael (Tabitha Dowlen) Bush of Adairville; daughter, Valerie (David) Defevers of Hopkinsville; brothers, Roger Harper of Corpus Christi, TX, Randy Harper of Clarksville and Kenny Harper of Springfield; sisters, Elaine Hardison of Springfield and Brenda Batey of Adams; 12 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Richard E. Choate, Sr., age 88 of Munford, TN, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11am in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Pastor Bill Redding officiating. Burial followed in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 4-7pm and again on Saturday from 10am until the hour of service at 11am.
Mr. Choate was born August 28, 1928 in Robertson County to the late Ernest and Rosa Lipscomb Choate. He worked for Avco (Textron) for over 30 years and after his retirement became an avid painter. Mr. Choate was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving 3 years and was a member of Lutons’ United Methodist Church in Goodlettsville.
In addition to his parents Mr. Choate is preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Choate and sisters, Mary Tolalah, Louise Bell, Margaret Durham, Edna Darby and Frances Garrett.
Mr. Choate is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marie Nash Choate; son and daughter-in-law, Richard E. and Diana Choate, Jr.; and 4 grandchildren.

Charles Ronald Beerman, age 67, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his home. Mr. Beerman was born December 21, 1949 in Nashville to the late Charles and Elizabeth Rather Beerman. He worked as a taxi driver.
Mr. Beerman is survived by his sons, Jeff (Channon) Beerman of Coopertown and Jeremy (Karen) Beerman of Greenbrier; sisters, Jean (Billy) Burchett, Gail Hyde, Vicky (Jerry) Jenkins and Kathy Holland, all of Springfield and Paula (Bill) Sandy of Cottontown; grandchildren, Dallas Beerman, Zach (Nora) Beerman, Brooklyn Beerman, Kyler Beerman, Tyler Mitchell, Caitie (Tyler) Mitchell, Lexi Mitchell, Taylor Beerman and Hannah Beerman.

Ms. Lowrance was born April 1, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Harold and Betty Rhae Schluter. She worked as the Office Manager at Sun Chemical.
In addition to her parents Ms. Lowrance is preceded in death by her brother, Al Schluter. She is survived by her fiancé, Jack Adams of Springfield; son, Nick (Trisha) Lowrance; ex-husband, Roe Lowrance; step-daughter, Tuesday Adams; brothers, Keith Schluter, Doug Schluter, Rick Schluter and Bill Schluter; sister, Sharon Poppa; and grandchildren, Summer Lowrance, Caleb Stroud, Tony Deaton and Heather Mulligan.
