Obituary for Stan Fuquay

Stan-Fuquay-obitStanley Ray Fuquay, 51, of Springfield, died Thursday June 23, 2016 at Skyline Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday June 27th at 11:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Woody and Bro. Doug Downing officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with Tim Bybee, Devon Batdorf, Chris Batdorf, Joey Wix, Tony Walton, and Mark Walton serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Stan, or better known by most as “Stan the Man”, was born August 27, 1964 in Robertson County to Eunice Walton Fuquay and the late Robert Ray Fuquay. He was a graduate of Springfield High School Class of 1985. Stan worked as a stocker at H.G. Hill’s in Springfield and he attended Lighthouse Baptist Church. Stan loved listening floral squareto music, writing songs, and reading. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother: Troy Fuquay.

Stan is survived by his mother: Eunice Walton Fuquay of Springfield, uncle’s and aunt’s: Julius and Pat Walton of Springfield, Paul and Jewel Fuquay, Sr., of Springfield, and Ruby Henson of Springfield, and by several cousins.

The family request, that if so desired, contributions be made to the Stan Fuquay funeral fund.

Obituary for Carolyn Speck Hamilton

Carolyn-Hamilton-obitCarolyn Speck Hamilton, 72, of Springfield, died Thursday June 23, 2016 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Saturday June 25th at 4:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating. Interment followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Bobby Haun, Billy Wilson, Jeff Head, Marty Frey, Charles Jolly, Joseph Hallman, and Joedy Hallman serving as pallbearers. . Honorary pallbearers were the employee’s and residents of Morningside of Springfield. The family received friends on Saturday from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home.

Carolyn was born March 2, 1944 in Robertson County to the late Roy and Anita Wilson Haun. She was the co-owner of the former Woodard Hardware Store in Springfield, and was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ. She had served as a member of the North Crest Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary. Carolyn enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Speck, Sr., and by her brothers: Johnny, Tommy, and Mark Haun.

floral squareCarolyn is survived by her husband: Wallace Dale Hamilton of Springfield, son and daughter-in-law: Paul and Bonnie Speck, Jr., of Springfield, daughter and son-in-law: Dee Dee and Joedy Hallman of Adairville, KY, step-son: DJ Hamilton and wife Charity of White House, step-daughters: Michelle George and husband Robert of Springfield, Melissa Tate and husband Ray of Hendersonville, brother and sisters-in-law: Bobby and Betty Haun of Springfield, Joyce Haun of Springfield, grandchildren: Joseph Paul Hallman and Lauren Rae Speck, nine step-grandchildren, and one step-great grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital

Obituary for Susann Britton Shearon

Susann-Shearon-obitSusann Britton Shearon, age 59 of Springfield, died Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Brandon Pugh officiating. Burial followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Mike Armes, David Armes, Adam Armes, Bryan Singleton, Jackson Jent, and Todd Tidwell serving as pallbearers. The family received friends at the funeral home Friday from 4 until8 PM and Saturday from 12 noon until the hour of service.

Mrs. Shearon was born July 5, 1956 in Robertson County to the late John and Obera floral squareAustin Britton. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was a retired property manager with Shoney’s. She was a graduate of Austin Peay State University and she loved making and sending cards to mark special events. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Faye Britton Armes.
Susann in survived by her husband, Tim Shearon of Springfield; daughter, Bailey Shearon of Independence, MO; and brother, Kenneth Britton and wife, Pat of Simpsonville, SC.

The family request if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to the Arthritis Foundation. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.

Obituary for Robert Franklin Henson

In loving Memory squareRobert Franklin Henson, 70, of Springfield, died Monday June 20, 2016 at his home. In honor of his wishes, Mr. Henson’s remains were cremated and a private family life celebration was held. Mr. Henson was born September 18, 1945 in Todd County, KY to the late Thomas and Evalou Ayres Henson. He was a retired welder from Avco, and was a member of Eastland Heights Baptist Church. Mr. Henson enjoyed fishing, wood working, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Gallup was born February 21, 1953 in Norfolk, VA. to Harold Williams Gallup, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Bachner Gallup. He was in the US Navy and was employed in construction.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Gallup is preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Leigh Gallup.

William-Carman-obitWilliam “Bill” Herman Carman of Hendersonville, TN died on Monday June 20, 2016. He is proceeded in death by his parents: Coleman & Maggie Carman, one sister: Janelle Carman; and one brother: Bobby Carman. He is survived by the love of his life, Bonnie Cleaveland. He also leaves behind one brother: Coleman Winston Carman, Jr. and two sisters: Dorothy “Dot” Fay Harrison of Dallas, TX and Virginia Raye Parish of Yorkville, IL; Nephews: Trey, Les, Ward, Joshua, and Shelton; Step children: Tim, Tina and Terry Cleaveland.

Bill served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was also a co-owner of the Shack restaurant in Goodlettsville,TN with Bonnie Cleaveland. Bill loved his J & B, Lab dogs, Steak Diane, and last but not least, his time on the golf course. He shot floral square3 hole-in-ones and a double eagle at the Bluegrass Country Club.

Visitation was at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday June 23 at 10 AM till 11 AM. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service was also held at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM on Thursday June 23.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Hospital. Austin & Bell Funeral Home In Hendersonville are in charge of services.
