Hershel Lee WoodenHershel Lee Wooden, age 79 of Springfield, TN died Friday September 9, 2016 at White House Health Care in White House, TN. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday September 12, 2016 at 11 am in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Spain officiating. Burial will follow in the Owens Chapel Cemetery with Brian Edwards, John Edwards, Joshua Spain, Richie Wilmore, Brad Spain, Kevin Spain, Justin Morris, and Matthew Morris serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6 pm and again on Monday from 9 am until the hour of service at 11 am.

Mr. Wooden was born July 12, 1937 in Kentucky to the late Clint and Mary Magdeline Carter Wooden. He was a logger and a farmer. His brother, Marion Wooden and a sister, Charlotte Diane Wooden also preceded him death.

Surviving Mr. Wooden are his wife, Jean Mantlo Wooden of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law, Chester and Gail Fraizer of Springfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Bill Munday of Euharlee, GA, Barbara and J.T. Spain of Cedar Hill, Charlotte and Jerry Kelley of Greenbrier, Connie and Doug Spain of Springfield, and floral squareElla and Eric Morris of Springfield; sisters, Edna Cook of Springfield, Martha Traughber of Springfield, and Judy Elmore of Pleasant View; grandchildren, Brian (Melanie) Edwards, John (Amy) Edwards, Joshua (Amanda) Spain, Richie Wilmore, Brad (Brittany) Spain, Kevin (Randi) Spain, Andrea Morris, Matthew Morris, Justin (August) Morris, Henry Morris, William (Jennifer) Spain, Jason (Mandy) Spain, Jada (Gary) Garrison, and Tonia (Tony) Crumley and twenty-three great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday September 12th at 2:00 p.m. (EST) in the Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello, KY. Pallbearers will be Joe Worley, Jerry Max Worley, Shawn Worley, and Dion Worley. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.

Mr. Worley was born June 11, 1942 in Wayne County, KY to the late Clarence and Dora Abbott Worley. He was a retired supervisor from Ford Motor Company and was of the Baptist faith.

Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 8 PM and Tuesday from 10 AM until the hour of service.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday September 10th at 11:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Barry Throneberry officiating. Interment followed at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Woodbury, TN with Justin Clay Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Adam Burton, Donald Osborne II, Carl Carter, and Jackie Thompson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Rodriguez, Darrell Thompson, and Clayton Thompson. The family received friends on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Thompson was born June 24, 1945 in Davidson County to the late Robert Thomas Jefferson and Altie Lee Bogle Thompson. He was a retired sheet metal worker from the 177 Sheet Metal Union and was also an Auctioneer. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Seventh Avenue Church of Christ in Nashville. He enjoyed training Tennessee Walking Horses, dancing at the Robertson County Senior Center, and was an excellent pool player. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by her love of his life: Betty Thompson, and by his brothers: Thomas Coleman, Robert Clayton, and Juan Lee Thompson

She was born in Robertson County, TN on May 26, 1940 to the late Raymond Carney Harris, Sr and Roberta Spicer Harris. She was also preceded in death by brother, Raymond C. Harris, Jr and sister, Judy Mai Kirby.

She was a member of Greenbrier 1st Baptist Church. She was an Editor for the Baptist Sunday School Board and a Mental Health Counselor with Harriett Cohn Mental Health Center. She earned her Master’s Degree from Austin Peay State University.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Billy Bottoms; daughter, Teresa Ann Sosh and a brother, Wayne Harris.

Ethel was born on January 9, 1929 in Marshall County, Tennessee to the late Allen Pearson and Emma Ragsdale Dalton. She was a retired cafeteria worker and member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband William Hulsey; sons, Ricky, Douglas, Jeffery, and Gerald Hulsey; 12 brothers and sisters.

Obituary for Wendell Gibson

Wendell GibsonWendell Kreis Gibson, age 86, of Clarksville, died Tuesday, September 6th, 2016 at Alive Hospice – Skyline Madison Campus surrounded by his family. A graveside service was conducted on Saturday, September 10th, 2016 at 11 o’clock am at Meredith Cemetery in Pioneer, Tennessee.

Mr. Gibson was born on March 29th, 1930 in Eagan, Tennessee to the late Mark and Stella Meredith Gibson. Beginning in the 1950’s, he and his brother, Ed, owned Gibson Grocery in Pansy, Kentucky. In 1968 he moved to Hamilton, Ohio to work for General Motors Fisher Body Plant, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Fairfield Church of Christ and Lindenwald United Methodist Church, and also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hamilton, Ohio. Mr. Gibson was a self-educated, avid reader who loved history. He was a loving, caring, generous man who made friends easily. He was also a devoted caregiver to his beloved wife in her final years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Velma Gibson; infant son, Michael Gibson; brothers, Edward, Barney, and Roy Gibson; sisters, Wilma Stone, Virginia Farrell, and Zora Gibson.

He is survived by his son, Mark (Christopher Crooks) Gibson of Columbus, Ohio; daughter, Claire (Mark) Kuzma of Pleasant View; brother-in-law, Bill (Dorothy) Wilson of Bloomington, Indiana; grandchildren, Adam (Katie) Kuzma of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Courtney Kuzma of Nashville; great-grandchildren, Cole, Kalie, and Emma Kuzma of Bowling Green; loving companion, Doris Rode of Clarksville; floral squarecaregivers, Linda Casner and Jennifer Weatherholtz, both of Clarksville and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Pinson was born December 18, 1923 in Cross Plains to the late Eula Hornberger. She was a cafeteria worker for Robertson County Schools and was a member of the Owens Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to her mother Mrs. Pinson is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Pinson; her daughter, Holly Fisher; two brothers; and three sisters.
