KY Man Arrested in Springfield For Possible Murder Of Wife

At approximately 5:30 PM local authorities were notified that Steven Everett Zapata Of Louisville, KY was wanted by Kentucky Authorities in connection with the Homicide of his wife.

A warrant was issued for Zapata  by Louisville Police and that Zapata would be driving a black 4 dr vehicle bearing Kentucky tags.

Springfield Police Officers and officers with the Robertson County Sheriff’s Department observed a black vehicle fitting the description coming into Springfield on Hwy 41 North and the vehicle was stopped and Zapata was taken into custody without incident. Many of you contacted Smokey about all the police vehicles near the RC Fairgrounds Friday evening.

steven z sqZapata was also wanted on an outstanding warrant in this county for Domestic Assault. He was transported to the Robertson County Jail where he is being held without bond at this time.

Stevens wife , Tondelia Zapata, 62 (a mother and grandmother), was found dead Thursday afternoon at their apartment in the 5200 block of Sedge Court in Pleasure Ridge Park in Louisville, KY.

Family members say Tondelia had no enemies and was loved by everyone. The couple had only been married for a couple of months.

Kentucky Authorities are on their way to Springfield to continue their investigation.
