Large Industrial Fire Closes Robertson County Landfill
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Firefighters from across Robertson County are currently battling a large industrial fire at the Robertson County Landfill in Springfield. MAP
According to officials, the call came in around 3:30am Monday morning. According to Robertson County Emergency Management Agency Director R.L. Douglas, about 250 tons of trash ignited and have caused damage to the facility but the extent of the damage will not be known until the fire can be extinguished and a survey can be done.
Douglas did say that the administrative part of the facility is still intact but may have some smoke damage.
According to Douglas, the facility is closed until at least Tuesday and firefighters will likely be on scene until noon today.
