Local Models Take To the Runway In Local Fashion (VIDEO)

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – America’s Next Top Model 2008 winner and Springfield restaurant owner Whitney Lee Thompson produced Springfield’s very first Runway fashion show Saturday- November 28,2015 at the Center.

Local models ranging from age 2 to 60, trained with Whitney Thompson to showcase clothing and accessories from local downtown merchants/boutiques. The show featured around 200 different looks for women and children of all shapes and sizes and even fashions for men too!

Shalom Movement is a dance studio embodying creativity, inspiration and excellence. They graciously provided their facility to the runway show crew and models for rehearsals. Hey Belle Boutique offers clothing & accessories for women of all sizes. They also offer personal and private shopping by appointment in addition to scheduled hours. Hippington Boutique is just another one of the many new shops to open in downtown Springfield. Hippington is a women’s boutique that specializes in clothing and accessories. Whitney Thompson told Smokey Barn News that the Robertson County Chamber of Commerce played a critical role in both man hours and sponsorship of the event and Whitney is grateful for their support.

Whitney and Ian Forrester America’s Top Model Whitney Lee along with husband and executive chef Ian Forrester own and manage a farm-to-table restaurant in the heart of Robertson County’s historical downtown square. Whitney Lee’s restaurant specializes in Southern Sweets and Savories! Their trademark, “Anything worth doing is worth doing well”, which is why they make the extra effort to cook completely from scratch, support local farmers, take care of their customers, and never work with frozen or pre-packaged goods.

The menu is full of southern favorites with modern touches. Their fried chicken is brined in sweet tea for 24 hours before being carefully breaded and fried by hand, in a cast-iron skillet. The fried green tomato BLT is made with applewood smoked bacon, organic lettuce and tomato from local farmers, on fresh baked bread.
