Man Arrested For Impersonating Police officer At Springfield Middle School
On Tuesday, Robertson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Charles Daniel Marston of Waynesboro TN for Aggravated Criminal Trespassing and Criminal Impersonation.
The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office was already investigating Marston due to recent allegations of him impersonating an officer.
On November 7th police say, Marston was on Springfield Middle School property after school hours. When approached by school officials, Marston told them he worked for the sheriff’s office. School officials then notified the sheriff’s office.
Deputies had Marston come in for questioning during which he confessed to trespassing at the school and impersonating a law enforcement officer by telling school personnel he worked for the sheriff’s office.
“It doesn’t happen very often but occasionally someone tries to impersonate a law enforcement officer. It is important for the public to know that they can ask for the officer’s credentials. Every law enforcement officer will have a commission card from their agency and should be able to produce that upon request. If it doesn’t seem right, it probably isn’t and do not hesitate to call authorities if you feel someone is trying to impersonate an officer.” Robertson County Sharif, Bill Holt
Deputies then arrested Marston and charged him with Aggravated Criminal Trespassing and Criminal Impersonation. He is being held in the Robertson County Detention Facility on $10,000 bond.
