Man Identified In Fatal Robertson County I24 Crash

PLEASANT VIEW TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Franklin man lost his life in a fatal I24 crash in Pleasant View Saturday morning.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Larry Dexter, 53, of Franklin, died following the violent crash when his 2010 Ford F250 pickup  veered off the interstate and flipped several times before coming to rest upside down on the shoulder of the road.

The crash occurred just before 6:00 a.m.

A passenger in the vehicle, identified as, Hillary Perris Burrell, 24, from Nashville, was transported with minor injuries.

According to the THP, the vehicle was heading West on Interstate 24 near mile marker 26 when it ran off the left side of the Interstate. After leaving the roadway the driver over-corrected. The vehicle then crossed over to the right shoulder of I24 and flipped.

According to the THP the vehicle flipped about 3 to 4 times before landing upside down in a grassy median facing west.

Westbound traffic was backed up for hours while the THP investigated the crash and crews cleaned up the scene.

According to Trooper Michael Lowe with the Tennessee Highway Patrol who investigated the crash, it did not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
