According to Russell Gupton, Robertson County Emergency Medical Service Assistant Chief, the victim is Cody Dorris, 29, of Greenbrier.

According to Lt. James Parks with the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department, Dorris hit a chain at the entrance to Dowlen Sawmill. The man was essentially clotheslined by the chain and thrown to the ground. There was a sign hanging from the chain but Dorris either didn’t see it or the ATV malfunctioned. Dorris sustained lacerations to the head from the accident, Parks said.

After the accident Dorris was conscious and talking to medics and able to answer questions, Parks said. Parks also said that Dorris was not wearing a helmet.

An Air Evac helicopter just happen to be in the area and landed at the scene within just minutes of the accident.

According to a media representative with TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, as of 10:00am Sunday morning, Dorris was listed in stable Condition.

As soon as we have an update on Mr. Dorris’ condition we will bring it to you.
