Meth Lab Tossed Out Car Window:
Portland Brother And Sister In Custody

PORTLAND TENNESSEE (Smokey Barn News) – According to Sumner County Sheriff Sonny Weatherford, a Portland brother and sister have been taken into custody after a meth lab was allegedly thrown out of the window of their vehicle as they were driving along West Roberts Rd in Portland Tennessee.

Initially Police said that the duo were husband and wife but after further investigation it was determined by police that they were in fact brother and sister.

Police say Kimberly Clinard, 43, of Portland will be facing charges of Promotion Of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and two counts of Reckless Endangerment of a child, an 8 month old and a 4 year old, Weatherford said.

William Clinard, 45, also of Portland, was also taken into custody on a previous charge of Violation Of Probation for Manufacturing of Methamphetamine on a felony warrant. He was not charged in today’s incident.

An alert citizen spotted the vehicle as it drove by on West Roberts Rd and noticed something being tossed out the window, they thought it might just be trash. Upon investigation the citizen identified the tossed items as a possible meth lab and called police. The Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and confirmed that it was “Components of a meth lab,” Sheriff Weatherford said.

Sumner County Deputy’s immediately closed West Roberts Rd. and contacted the Tennessee Dangerous Drug Task Force Truck (hazmat team) to remove the meth lab components from the side of the road.

The citizen was able to provide a good description of the vehicle to police and Sumner County Deputies were able to quickly locate the suspects.
