Police Seek Suspects In Movie Money Scam

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Over the past several weeks, the Springfield Police Department has received numerous reports of counterfeit bill showing up at businesses around town. The bills look like real currency; however they clearly say “For Motion Picture Use Only” on both sides of the bill.

Detectives Chuck Bogle and Charles Consiglio with the Springfield Police Department have developed several suspects and have obtained video of these crimes from the businesses that were defrauded. There is so much evidence to comb thru and so many hours of surveillance video; Detectives are still putting all the pieces together to ensure that all suspects are properly identified and charged accordingly.

Detectives ask that all businesses, as well as individuals that do any sort of cash business be aware that these counterfeit bills are circulating around Springfield. Detectives have recovered approximately $700 worth of counterfeit currency, but they do believe that there is more out there.

If you come across any of these bills, please notify Det. Chuck Bogle or Det. Charles Consiglio with the Springfield Police Department at 615-384-8422
