Robertson County Schools Closed Thursday Due To Weather
ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – According to officials with the Robertson County School District, due to tomorrow’s severe weather forecast, all Robertson County Schools will be closed, tomorrow, Thursday, March 30, 2017.
Daycare facilities will operate at the discretion of each local school.
WEATHER EVENT THURSDAY:
There will be two storms coming through Middle Tn. Thursday. The first one will moving into West Tennessee in the morning. From 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. West of I-65. It will not be as severe as the 2nd storm coming in after that.
The 2nd storm will take place East of I-65 at about 1:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. The strongest part of it will be around school getting out and people coming home from work.
The 2nd storm is rated as a Moderate threat with possible tornadoes and some heavy rain. There will be numerous storms possible within this group in the afternoon.The first one that comes through will be weakening but the 2nd event will be stronger.
Look for hail and high winds on the 2nd event and possibly more than one tornado. This 2nd storm has great potential for damage from hail, wind and tornadoes.
This storm is in a Moderate risk. A 4 out of 5 risk which is something to really consider. If you don’t have weather radios now, please consider getting one before tomorrow. Prepare for shelter.

This storm system will bring the potential for tornadoes, damaging winds, large hail and sporadic torrential downpours along with frequent lightning.
Precautionary/preparedness actions if a weather warning is issued:
Take cover! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors… In a mobile home… Or in a vehicle… Move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
