Saturday Fundraiser Overwhelms Wounded Robertson Officer

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – If you remember, back in June, Robertson County Deputy Josh Wiley was critically injured in a hail of gunfire when he and his partner were attacked by a prisoner during a routine medical transport. The prisoner managed to get his hands on a gun during the scuffle and shot Deputy Wiley multiple times. Wiley was lucky to be alive after the attack, his partner, Tomisha Jones, was shaken but OK, the prisoner, Rodney Cole, did not survive. FULL STORY

If you were wondering how Deputy Wiley was doing, well, here he is. He’s dropped a few pounds and still has a long road of recovery ahead but considering what he’s been through he looks pretty good, in fact, we’ll chat with him in a minute.

Smokey Barn News caught up to Deputy Wiley at a fundraiser organized by the community to help him and his family with the mounting medical expenses. Wiley was overwhelmed by the love and support from the community.
