Special Weather Report (Local experts weigh in on Cindy)

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Tropical Storm Cindy is headed our way so to find out what it will likely do to Robertson County we asked Smokey’s Weather Nut Bill Jones for a run down of what we can expect.

Smokey Barn News also reached out to Don Coleman who lives in Robertson County and is a weather watcher.

According to Coleman, the projected rainfall totals for northern Middle Tennessee, Thursday through Saturday night, are 2-4″ with locally heavier amounts possible. It looks like “around” 3.5″ for our area.

There will be gusty winds and a slight to marginal chance of strong storms.

A tornado is not out of the question but unlikely. It will depend on cloud cover on Friday, relating to the amount of afternoon heating, to support T’storm development.

I’d say a potentially significant rain event, with localized Flash Flooding possible in some locations. Periods of gusty winds and the chance of a few scattered strong storms.

More info on Cindy’s path is available at Weather.gov.
