After serving as interim Fire Chief for about seven months, Jimmy Hamill has been selected as the new full-time fire Chief effective immediately. Since Jimmy has already been in the role for over seven months there will be no probationary period according to Paul Nutting the City manager. Paul also indicated that Jimmy demonstrated professionalism, dedication, hard work and loyalty to the citizens of Springfield and to the Springfield Fire Department for more than three decades of public service.
