Springfield Man Crashes Vehicle, Leaves Scene, Arrested
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE (Smokey Barn News) A Springfield man escaped serious injury after crashing into a guard rail head-on Friday evening.
The accident occurred just before midnight on Industrial Dr near the intersection of Gorham Ave. (Location of accident)
A Springfield Police officer was near by and arrived within seconds of the wreck. As the officer approached the accident he witnessed the driver get out of the vehicle, run down an embankment and behind some buildings.
Officers located the driver after a short search. The driver was taken into custody under the suspicion of DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended license.
Industrial Dr was closed for about an hour while officials cleared the scene.
