Summer Singin’ For Shane – Benefit Concert BBQ Dinner

Bright pool Header

Hello all! Thank you for reading this post and helping!

Shane familyMy name is Angie Honeycutt. My husband Shane, age 40, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November of 2012 after a fluke accident at home that sent him to the ER for an MRI in late August. Luckily the cancer was discovered early, in the beginning of Stage II. After speaking with Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Atlanta, Shane said that it would cost $27,000 to begin treatment there. And if he had the money he would go. I am not sure what all this entails (surgery, chemo, radiation, alternative treatment) or the timing of these things, but we know the $27,000 is just the beginning, whether he goes to Atlanta or stays local and goes to Vanderbilt or another facility here in TN.

Shane does not have health insurance and we need the help of loving family, kind friends, and generous strangers to get enough money to begin treatment. There have already been expenses just to receive a diagnosis (and from the ER visit in August), and there will no doubt be more expenses along the way, and any donations you give to us will be used for those medical expenses.

If you know me or Shane and you would like to give, we would be grateful for any amount. Every little bit helps! If you don’t know us but just feel led to give, then let me say thank you!

I read this Bible verse the same day I created this page and thought it definitely applies here.

Proverbs 3:27 says “Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them.”

And here are a couple other quotes that think are fitting:

“Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day.” ~Sally Koch

“Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something.” ~Author Unknown

May God bless all of you who take a look at this page and give. Even if you can’t give monetarily at this time, please pray for healing for Shane and for strength for me and the rest of his family. His children, family, friends and I all love him very much and want him to be around for many more years!

Thank you, on behalf of Shane and his family, for your support and prayers!
