Teachers Focus On Technology Ahead Of New School Year
ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News)“This is by Robertson County and for Robertson County,” Marshall told the teachers. A product of a long-held vision, the conference was organized and managed by Marshall’s staff, who incorporated RCS teachers to share technology information that they have successfully used in a classroom setting.
Marshall’s goal for the conference was to host an in-house event with multiple technology learning opportunities run by district teachers for district teachers.
“We do little in-services here and there, but we wanted one major event,” he said. “This was an event where we could share teacher to teacher ideas within the district about using technology in the classroom.
“It’s so special that our teachers teach our teachers,” he said. “I think that was why it was such a big hit last year when we did this for the first time. We’re going to do this every year if we can, and hopefully it will get bigger and better.”
Attending teachers were also eligible for door prizes throughout the day, and treated to a light breakfast and lunch. The well-organized event was enthusiastically received by all present, and teachers came away with a new list of technology tools to help them better meet their classroom needs.
