The Moon Over Robertson County (Go Look)

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Stop reading this article and go look at the moon. It hasn’t been this bright and close (Perigee) to the earth since 1948, at least that’s what scientists say.

They call it the “Supermoon” and  it was at its brightest early this morning but it’s still putting on a great show this evening.  The moon’s orbit around the earth is not a perfect circle, its elliptical or oval in shape. This means that some times the moon is far away and once in a while it gets close, tonight it’s close.

Because the moon is actually closer it will also bring higher tides, followed by very low tides the next morning.

The moon will appear 14 percent larger and about 30 percent brighter than when it’s at its farthest (apogee) from the earth.

To see the moon this big and bright again you have to wait another 18 years, so go look before it’s gone. …and take a selfie with the moon and post it below…
