TN Quick Cash Robbery “Inside-Job” Police Say
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) Back on May 30th in Springfield a man walked into Tennessee Quick Cash located on Memorial Blvd showed a gun and demanded money, at least that’s the way it looked on a video captured on the company’s security surveillance system.
According to police the robbery took place just as the business was closing and the suspect fled on foot. Tennessee Quick Cash is located at 904 Memorial Blvd.
According to Springfield Police Chief David Thompson, Kristin Nicole Francis, 34, of Springfield and an employee of the business at the time, told police that she had just closed up the store and was in the parking lot preparing to leave when she was approached by a man with a gun. Francis said the suspect then led her back inside the business and committed the robbery.
Police started looking for the suspect immediately and even employed the use of a K-9 police dog to track the suspect. With the number of robberies in the area, including one attempted robbery that left a Springfield man in the hospital with gunshot wounds, police took the investigation and search very seriously.
Police are now saying they believe the robbery was elaborately staged to look like a robbery for the company’s video security surveillance system. Springfield Police Chief David Thompson told Smokey Barn News Tuesday afternoon that they believe that Francis knew the robber and the entire robbery was staged.
Francis was taken into custody and has been charged with Theft under $10,000. Police are still looking for other suspects including the alleged armed robber. For more info see Smokey’s video report here.
