White House Police & Fire Safety Day Sept 5th (Fun For The Kids)

WHITE HOUSE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – It’s almost time!, Public Safety Day -September 5th! Safety Day in White House has become an end of summer tradition for White House. Now in it’s seventeenth year, the annual Safety Day event will be held on Monday, September 5th.

The bike parade serves as the opening ceremony for the days events. Participants in the parade can bring a bike, trike, wagon or stroller to participate in the parade that will line up at the fire hall on Highway 76 beginning at 9:00 am. The best decorated modes of transportation will win prizes. All participants/riders must wear a helmet and adults are encourage to accompany their children. The parade will begin at approximately 9:20 am and follow a route that will end in the park.

Mike gainesSafety Day will begin following the parade with vehicles, games and activities and for children and adults to participate in. The annual bike rodeo will test the skills and agility of riders. For many years, Mike Gaines of State Farm Insurance has provided bikes to be used as prizes for the bike rodeo and other activities during safety. Attendees can test their survival skills in the home fire challenge, be amazed by K-9 demonstrations and and explore several police, fire and safety vehicles, including helicopters. Vehicles and activities will continue at the White House City Park until 2:00 pm.

A blood drive is also held by the American Red Cross in conjunction with Safety Day. The bloodmobile will be accepting donations at the fire hall on Highway 76 throughout the day.
