White House Police Officer Hospitalized After Accident

WHITE HOUSE TENNESSEE (Smokey Barn News) – A White House Police Officer is recovering this evening after being injured in an accident on Hwy 76 in White House. The accident occurred directly in front of Wendy’s.

Though we are still waiting on an update from authorities, we do not believe the injuries the officer sustained were life threatening. The call came into 911 just after 6:00 p. m. Saturday evening.

The THP is in charge of the investigation and we are still waiting on their report so we do not have an official cause at this time.

There were two vehicles involved in the accident, a 2015 Ford Taurus police vehicle, and a 2000 Ford Explorer.  According to officials, a passenger in the police vehicle (a White House Police Sergeant) was not injured. The driver and one passenger in the Ford Explorer were also not injured and the vehicle sustained only minor damage.

UPDATE: White House Police Chief Pat Brady spoke to Smokey Barn News this evening. Brady confirmed that the injuries the officer sustained were not life threatening. “Our officer was taken to Skyline Medical Center for observation but we expect him to be fine,” Brady said.

UPDATE Sunday 8/30 10:35 a.m. According to White House Police Chief Pat Brady, the officer has been released from the hospital.
