White House Teacher Proposes In Front Of Student Body

WHITE HOUSE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Joseph Hill of White House proposed to Ashley Underwood, also of White House, on Tuesday, not that unusual, people propose every day but this one was different.

Joseph and Ashley have been together for nine and a half years, since high school, and Mr Hill wanted to do something special.

Joseph planned the engagement to be in front of the whole student body, you see, Joseph and Ashley both work together at Heritage Elementary School in White House, Joseph teaching the 5th grade and coaching football while Ashley works in the library. It’s a match made in heaven.

It was going to be a surprise for Ashley that she would never forget. The plan was to propose to Ashley after the 6th grade band performed a concert for the student body.

After the concert Ashley was called up to the stage by principal Angie Frye, then Joseph came up and got down on one knee. One can assume that at this point Ashley knew something was up. Joseph then pointed to the children holding the sign that said “Will you marry my teacher.” (photo in slider below) Ashley saw the sign and smiled big, that’s when Joseph proposed.

Lucky for Joseph, she said yes and all of the students erupted with applause and cheers. “It was a spectacular moment for us and our school, Joseph told Smokey Barn News.
