Why Are Some Springfield High School Band Members Sad?

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Tremendous growth and success have created a unique problem for the Springfield High School Marching Band, and you might be able to help.
According to the Band Director, Jacob Maurer, the band is doing great, even as it takes on an influx of new students, more then ever before. Most recently the band was invited to play for WKRN Channel 2 in Nashville as well as many other venues that include invitations to play at the state level.
So what’s the problem? The band has literally outgrown their uniforms, both in age and quantity. They just don’t have enough to go around so some students have to wear uniforms that just don’t match the beautiful music they’re making.
With this problem in mind, the band decided to reach out to the community to see if they would be willing to help out with donations to cover new uniforms and perhaps even a few needed instruments. The schools budget will only go so far, meaning it’s up to the band to find ways to come up with the money themselves.
