Lee Robertson of Greenbrier is 33 and has been in level 5 kidney failure for the past year and has been unable to work for most of the year. Fortunately, his sister, Amy Morris, was able to donate a kidney to him on September 9, 2013.  “The decision to donate was a very easy one,  several of our family members were planning to get tested.  I just happened to be the first one to get tested and I ended up being a perfect match,”  said Any Morris.

Lee will not be able to work for at least 6 months to a year. Lee is the son of Freddie and Sherry Robertson and brother to Tami Robertson Smith, Stacy Robertson Felts, and Amy Robertson Morris. He is married (Stephanie Robertson) with 2 children and 2 stepchildren. Donations from the benefit will go to pay for medical expenses and living expenses. Please come out and join family and friends for a day of fun while helping a good cause. Hope to see you there!

UPDATE Friday September 27 10:AM:

Lee was readmitted to Centennial Medical Center this morning. He was readmitted because his creatinine and potassium levels looked a tad high, according to his mother Sherry Robertson. They will be doing a biopsy to see if the new kidney is being rejected.  If  tests come back positive they will probably up the level of anti rejection drugs he is taking. Doctors will want to use the lowest dose of anti-rejection drugs as possible. Anti-rejection drugs lower a persons ability to fight off illness and bacteria infection, it’s the side effect of  keeping his body from rejecting the new kidney.

Lee was hoping to make an appearance at the event but doctors have indicated they will need to keep him for the next three days. The event starts at 11:AM and goes all day Saturday, so be sure to come on out.
