Coopertown Closer To Contract With Pleasant View Fire

COOPERTOWN TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Coopertown came closer to a deal with the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department at the city’s Board of Mayor & Aldermen Meeting this Tuesday evening.

Coopertown numbersCompromised incremental fees that buy the city time to find a way to pay for it helped the two get closer to a deal. If finalized, the deal will end months of talks and negotiations and preserve the city’s ISO ratings saving it’s residents potentially hundreds of dollars in insurance costs.

Smokey carried the meeting live to our Facebook page (see recording below) and then spoke to Coopertown Mayor Sam Childs and Pleasant View Fire Chief P. J. Duncan afterwords. There was definitely a lighter tone after the meeting that seemed to signify that  the two were closer to a deal that worked for both.

Earlier in the week, Coopertown Mayor Sam Childs and Pleasant View Fire Chief P. J. Duncan both sat down with Smokey Barn News and went over their concerns. To see the full interviews click here.
