Coopertown Police Need Volunteers To Get Drunk On Them

COOPERTOWN TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The Coopertown Police Department is looking for volunteers willing to get drunk. On their tab.

Five to six volunteers are needed and volunteers must commit to a full day. Drinks and transportation will be provided by the department.

The day of training will help officers make correct decisions during DUI checkpoints and traffic stops.

According to Sgt. Parker with the Coopertown Police Department, volunteers can request certain types of alcohol ahead of time but don’t expect “top shelf.” The class will be held in Coopertown in late June.

In case you were wondering, Coopertown Police did not invent this type of training. It’s called “wet lab training” and it’s a common tool used to educate law enforcement professionals. Washington State Police recorded a video of their “wet lab training.” The video offers a good look at what volunteers can expect. We have added their video below.

Interested volunteers should contact Sergeant Parker at 615-382-7007 ext 204 or you can message through their Facebook page.
