Diane Elaine Sloan, Long Time Pharmacy Technician And Friend To The Community Dies, She Was 62
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Diane Elaine Sloan, 62, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 5, 2018. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, October 11th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home.
Diane was born December 24, 1955 in Springfield to the late Ben and Sarah Virginia Johnson Sloan. She was a graduate of Springfield High School Class of 1973. Diane once worked as a Court Reporter in Middle Tennessee, and then went on to work as a Pharmacy Technician at Southside Drug Store for over 32 years, where she made many friends and helped countless people.
She was a member of the Business and Professional Women and enjoyed volunteering to read books to children’s classes at school. Diane enjoyed going to Jazz on the Lawn and going on family trips. She was a member of North Springfield Baptist Church, but also attended Springfield Baptist from time to time. Diane had a great love for animals and all the neighborhood and stray animals knew they could always find food and shelter at her home. Her family was her life, especially her grandchildren who affectionately called her Baboo.
Diane leaves to survive her, her wonderful sons that she so adored: Kyle Graves and wife Elissa of Madison, Zach Graves of Springfield, and Brian Graves and wife Amber of Greenbrier, her siblings: Robert Sloan of Springfield, Don Sloan and wife Susie of Springfield, Nancy Harris of Springfield, and Linda Fizer and husband Anthony of Springfield, and the lights of her life, her grandsons: Knox, Max, and Nalan Sloan.
