GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Two children were hospitalized and a driver arrested in Springfield following an accident on Hwy 41 Monday night.

The two children, both under the age of 10, were transferred to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville in stable condition, according to Springfield Police.

The vehicle was traveling North on Hwy 41 when it crossed the center lane, both South bound lanes and left the roadway, police said.

According to accident investigators, after leaving the roadway, the vehicle traveled about 100 yards in a ditch, just missing a utility pole, before impacting the second utility pole with enough force to cause full airbag deployment. The vehicle will likely be totaled.
