Firefighters Make “Good STOP” On Tobacco Barn Fire

CHEATHAM COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Firefighters from the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department and Ashland City made a good stop on a tobacco barn fire Thursday morning.

The barn is located in Poplar Ridge Rd in Chapmansboro, Tennessee just outside Pleasant View. MAP

“This is the fourth barn in the last few weeks that suffered losses. It’s not very often you can save any part of a tobacco barn because it burns so fast but the quick response from our Station 6 (Thomasville Rd and MOSLEY Ferry Rd) we were able to save the barn and a lot of the crop,” officials said.

“The owner was able to save and move a lot of the tobacco from this barn and was grateful for the quick response and hard work from the men and women of the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department, Ashland City Fire Department, Cheatham County EMA, Cheatham County EMS, and the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office. As always we pray for the people and their losses.”
