First Responders Offered Rare Aircraft Accident Training

First Responders Offered Rare Aircraft Accident Training

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Last week Firefighters with the Springfield Fire Department were offered a rare opportunity to train for an aviation disaster with a real aircraft.

The offer of the plane came from AMF Aviation, an aircraft recovery company based out of the Springfield/Robertson County Airport. According to AMF Aviation owner Chris Ferraraccio, everyone survived the crash in the donated plane. After NTSB and the FAA finish their investigation to learn how to prevent future crashes and save lives, the crumpled aircraft will save more lives as a training tool for firefighters.

Smokey Barn News was invited along for a first-hand look at what goes into preparing for an aircraft disaster. With our cameras rolling, first responders trained for a day they hope will never come.
