Four Local Libraries Receive Technology Grants

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) –Secretary of State Tre Hargett presented grants to several Middle Tennessee Libraries on Friday. Four of those libraries are located right here in the Robertson County area.

The technology grant from the Tennessee State Library and Archives is for public libraries to replace or purchase technology, including computers, software, networking hardware or peripherals.

The State Library and Archives is awarding more than $350,000 in technology grants across the state.

Secretary of State Tre Hargett said. “Access to technology is something many of us take for granted,”  “Our public libraries across the state play a pivotal role in connecting Tennesseans. I’m proud of the role the Tennessee Library and Archives plays in increasing access to technology and education across the entire state.”

“On behalf of the Senate, we congratulate our Robertson County libraries for the outstanding job they’re doing. The grants are very competitive and winning these grants proves that these libraries are among the best in Tennessee. It’s an honor to appropriate the money for these grants and I appreciate Secretary Hargett’s coming to Robertson County to present these checks to Stokes Brown and White House libraries.” Senator Kerry Roberts.

Below are the libraries that received grant money.

1.) Stokes Brown Public Library received a $1,549 technology grant. MAP

2.) White House Public Library received a $3,005 technology grant. MAP

3.) Portland Public Library received a $652 technology grant. MAP

4.) Millersville Public Library received a $1,032 technology grant. MAP
