ROBERTSON COUNTY/MIDDLE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) –Freeze warning in effect from 1 am to 9 am Monday.

The national weather service in Nashville has issued a freeze warning… Which is in effect from 1 am to 9 am cdt Monday. The freeze watch is no longer in effect.

Temperatures… 27 to 32 degrees.

Impacts… Given the recent warm spell… Frost and freezing temperatures could damage sensitive vegetation.

Precautionary/preparedness actions…

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

Cover plants. You can protect plants by covering them with sheets, towels, blankets, cardboard, baskets, coolers or a tarp to place over plants. It’s best to cover plants before dark, as this will  trap warmer air.

Freezing temperatures and frost likely late tonight into early Monday morning…
Colder air will continue to move into middle Tennessee today and tonight. Skies will become clear late tonight as winds decrease. This will allow temperatures to fall into the upper 20s to lower 30s… With areas of frost.

Sunday night…. into the week:

Evening scattered showers  give way to some sunshine on Monday with temperatures climbing to the mid 50s. Temps will rise into the 70’s as the week progresses. Possible thunderstorms could roll in on Thursday.
