Girl, 5, Struck By Vehicle In Millersville Lifeflighted In Critical Condition

MILLERSVILLE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A five-year-old girl has been Lifeflighted to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville in critical condition after she was struck by a vehicle in Millersville.

According to Millersville Police, the accident occurred around 8:30 pm Wednesday evening near the intersection of Hwy 31W and Slaters Creek Rd. MAP Somehow the child escaped from her family after the Wednesday evening service ended at Praise Chapel Church located near the corner of Hwy 31W and Slaters Creek Rd. Police say the child made her way to Slaters Creek Rd.

At that same time, a 30-year-old man visiting from New Jersey was turning onto Slaters Creek Rd from Hwy 31W and the child appeared in the middle of the road. The driver was not able to stop. Police say the child was struck and drug a short distance.

The child was conscious and awake after the accident but critically injured. She was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

The Millersville Police Department is investigating the incident to determine if charges are applicable, however, according to Millersville Assistant Police Chief DustinCarr, charges are not likely.
