Goodlettsville Home Lost To Fire Thursday

GOODLETTSVILLE TENNESSEE (Smokey Barn News) – Firefighters from Goodlettsville and Nashville made a gallant effort to save a Goodlettsville home engulfed in flames Thursday afternoon.

Everyone, including the family dog, made it out of the home safe. From what we could understand, about eight people called the structure home.

The home is located on Park Ct which is wedged between I-65 and Long Hollow Pike. MAP

The fire started around 4:45pm and according to a resident of the home the fire may have started in a bedroom. The resident said they were outside when they noticed smoke pouring out of a window and then heard the fire alarm.

They could see the blinds were melted. One resident was inside the home on a lower floor but was quickly evacuated. There was a brief attempt to use a fire extinguisher but the door handle was too hot to hold.

Another resident did get a look in the room and said a blanket was on fire at the end of a bed. The resident said the fire may have been caused by an outlet but there was no fan or electric heater being used in that room.

Firefighters from Goodlettsville and Nashville literally attacked the home from all sides to bring the raging ball of fire under control. It appears that some items inside the home may be salvageable but most of the home was destroyed by fire.
