Greenbrier Home/Family Dog Lost In Tuesday Fire

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A home in Greenbrier is a total loss after a fire ripped through the structure Tuesday morning.

According to Firefighter Ernest Smith, the fire started around 10:30 Tuesday morning. When firefighters arrived the home was engulfed in flames.

The home is located in the center of Greenbrier, near the corner of West College St and Hwy 41. MAP

There were two people inside the home at the time the fire started, both made it out safely, however, a family dog was lost in the fire.

The Robertson County Management Agency, Robertson County EMS, Greenbrier Fire, White House Station 51 and 52, Ridgetop Fire and Springfield Fire all responded to the call.

The home is a total loss, Smith said, and the family has been put in contact with the American Red Cross.

Though the fire is still under investigation, Smith believes that a propane wall heater may have caused the fire.
