Greenbrier Police Seek BB/Pellet Gun Shooter On Hygeia Rd

Several vehicles were peppered with BBs or Pellets Sunday evening in Greenbrier, Police say.. The incident occurred on or around Hygeia Rd behind Gun’s and Leather. (Location of incident) Police say that at least four vehicles were hit with the pellets sometime between 6:30 and 7:00pm.

Several of the victims thought their vehicles were hit with gunfire but after a joint investigation conducted by Ridgetop and Greenbrier Police it was determined that it was in reality a BB or Pellet type of Gun.

Police say that the pellets had enough force to penetrate the glass of two of the vehicles and caused small dents in fenders of the others. According to Police, one of the vehicle occupants was a young child but the child was not injured.

Though a BBs and Pellets are not likely to cause life threatening injuries they can cause serious eye injuries. The area of Hygeia Rd that the incident occurred has several sharp turns, the shooter(s) are fortunate that none of the drivers panicked and lost control of their vehicles.

According to Police, none of the pellets hit anyone and no one was injured during what police estimate was about a five to ten minute shooting spree with the BB gun.

Ridgetop and Greenbrier Police were searching Hygeia Rd and interviewing victims for several hours Sunday evening.

Police say the suspects could face several charges. The best thing the suspects could do is turn themselves in to police.
