Greenbrier Water Main Break Affects Service To Customers

UPDATE: Officials say full service should be restored by noon.

According to Greenbrier water tech Bill Williams, there were two major breaks last night in the main line feeding the city, a 10 inch and a 6 inch. Though the lines are repaired it will take a while for the lines to reach full pressure.

It’s a slow process bring the pressure back up. Repressurizing the system has to be done slowly to prevent further damage. The city should have normal water pressure by noon, Williams said.

The cold temperatures hindered the repair operation as crews worked all night and into the morning to repair the damage.
