Guns, Drugs And Ammo Seized In Springfield Traffic Stop

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – On Tuesday afternoon, a traffic stop in Springfield led authorities to a sizable amount of guns, ammo and drugs.

A search of the vehicle during the stop by the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office led to the seizure of approximately 4 grams of alleged Heroin packaged for resale, marijuana, scales, needles, paraphernalia, two loaded handguns, and a loaded semi-automatic rifle.

The traffic stop occurred in front of the Springfield Inn around 2 pm. The driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Garrett Lynn Rains Jr. of Springfield was taken into custody.

Rains is being held in the Robertson County Detention Facility. Rains is facing charges of Possession of Schedule I Drug for Resale with no bond, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Dangerous Felony with a $15,000 bond, and Failure to Appear with a $2,500 bond.

“I am proud of the work by our Sheriff’s Office team for continuing to make this county safe by getting this suspect, drugs, and firearms off the streets,” stated Sheriff Michael Van Dyke.
